Why You Should Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Spring cleaning is upon us! This means it's time to finally clean your makeup brushes. Be honest, you've maybe cleaned them once or twice. This can actually be very damaging to your skin and it may be the reason you keep breaking out. Only 61% of women clean their makeup brushes once a month. This is a terrifying fact.

Not cleaning your makeup brushes can cause a buildup of harmful bacteria like staphylococcus, streptococcus and E. Coli. Consistently using your dirty makeup brushes can clog your pores and irritate your skin. The bristles that were once soft on your makeup brushes probably feel abrasive and stiff because of the build up of product. Cleaning your brushes and letting them air dry will most likely help them feel new again.

You should be cleaning your brushes about once a week. I know, that sounds like a lot, but if you incorporate it into your makeup routine, it is not as bad as it seems!

Take care of your skin with your clean brushes and our Essentials Kit, you won't regret it!
